Kathy D: Colfax, California; My husband had pigeons as a kid and when he decided to get some homers in 1985 and spent WAY too much money building a loft, I thought he was crazy! But then he gave me a few of my own birds (pretty ones, of course) and a top breeder gave us a foundation quality hen (which I claimed). I started racing my birds against his. Boy, it was fun to beat him! Then one of his racing buddies who has a release business, suggested I get some white birds and I could make some money. He gave me my first whites (thanks John K) in 1990. I'm still trying to make money, but I'm loving every minute I spend with these beautiful birds!
